Volunteering
Volunteering with Fed Up With Hunger has meant engaging with organizations that make a difference both locally and globally. From sorting and packing donations at Northern Illinois Food Bank to assembling life-saving meals for Feed My Starving Children, each effort has been a hands-on way to fight hunger and spread hope. At Ronald McDonald House, we supported families with children in the hospital by preparing meals and creating a welcoming space during difficult times. And through events like the Lake County Haven Gala Night and 5K Run, we’ve helped raise awareness and resources for women and children overcoming homelessness. Together, these experiences reflect our belief that every act of service—big or small—can create meaningful change.
Northern Illinois Food Bank
Volunteering regularly at Northern Illinois Food Bank has been a deeply rewarding experience. It’s inspiring to see how our community comes together to support individuals and families facing hunger. By sorting, packing, and organizing food donations, I was able to make a hands-on contribution to a mission that provides nourishment—and hope—to those who need it most.

Feed My Starving Children
Volunteering with Feed My Starving Children has been a powerful way to make a global impact. Each meal packed helps fight hunger in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities. Working alongside others to prepare and pack nutritious food was a hands-on reminder that small efforts can lead to life-changing outcomes for children and families around the world.

Ronald McDonald House
Volunteering at Ronald McDonald House was a meaningful way to support families during some of their most challenging times. By helping provide meals, organizing supplies, and creating a welcoming environment, I contributed to a place that offers comfort and care to families with children in the hospital. It was a powerful reminder of how compassion and community can make a real difference.

Lake County Haven – Gala night & 5K Run
Supporting Lake County Haven through the Gala Night and 5K Run was an inspiring way to stand with women and children overcoming homelessness. The Gala Night brought the community together for an evening of hope, celebration, and fundraising, while the 5K Run energized supporters of all ages to take action for a cause that matters. Together, these events helped raise awareness and vital resources to empower families on their journey to independence and stability.
