With food insecurity rising and shelters stretched thin, I wanted to do something personal and nourishing – something that could bring comfort beyond just calories. As part of my mission with Fed Up With Hunger, I prepared and donated home-cooked meals for 25 women and children staying at Lake County Haven, across both their Hope House and Renewal House locations.
The meal included pasta, chicken, salad, bread, dessert, and soft drinks—made and delivered with care. For many of the families staying there, something as simple as a warm, balanced meal can be a reminder that they are seen, supported, and not alone. I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute in a direct, hands-on way, and I hope to continue partnering with shelters like Lake County Haven in the future.
