About Us
Founder: Rachel Varghese
Fed Up With Hunger is a grassroots initiative founded by Rachel Varghese in sixth grade to combat food insecurity through community-driven action. Since then, the project has grown to include the donation of over 10,000 food items, regular partnerships with local food pantries, and bi-monthly bread deliveries from Highland Baking Company. Rachel also organizes food drives, prepares homemade meals for shelters, and has even supported orphanages abroad—always with a focus on both immediate relief and long-term impact.
Beyond food distribution, Rachel leads efforts in education and advocacy. She’s taught elementary school students about hunger through interactive presentations, published research on food insecurity in Chicagoland, and spoken internationally to raise awareness. Whether it’s educating children in schools, bringing attention to hunger on social media, or advocating for stronger policies in Congress, Fed Up With Hunger is building a compassionate, informed, and action-oriented community determined to make hunger a thing of the past.
