Knowing that homelessness is more than just losing a roof over your head, sometimes it means losing routines, dignity, and a sense of safety – I wanted to contribute something meaningful and immediate. PADS Lake County’s mission “to provide trauma‑informed support, resources, and shelter to individuals and families experiencing a housing crisis” and their vision “in which homelessness is rare, brief, and non‑recurring” spoke to me deeply.
With this in mind, I donated pizza sufficient for 50 adults who are temporarily sheltering at the Super 8 motel in Mundelein under the PADS program—people who are navigating through the uncertainty of being unhoused and working toward a more stable next step. I’m honored to support PADS Lake County’s emergency‑shelter work. I hope that this small gesture helps those staying at the motel know they are seen and supported, and I look forward to doing more in partnership with local organizations that believe in ending homelessness one person at a time.
